Second Prichard Police Officer Arrested in Extortion and Bribery Investigation

MOBILE COUNTY, AL — A second Prichard police officer has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of criminal misconduct within the City of Prichard Police Department.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, investigators arrested Jihad Hasan Irby on July 8. Irby has been charged with two counts of first-degree extortion, two counts of bribery, and one count of use of office for personal gain.

Authorities said investigators made contact with Irby to serve the warrants, and he was taken into custody without incident.

The sheriff’s office also confirmed that Emanuel Naman Dotch II, a previously arrested Prichard police officer, was served with warrants on July 8 for the same five charges: two counts of first-degree extortion, two counts of bribery, and one count of use of office for personal gain.

“These arrests are part of the ongoing investigation into allegations of criminal misconduct within the City of Prichard Police Department,” the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office stated in a news release.

Officials said the investigation remains active. Additional arrests or charges may be possible as investigators continue reviewing evidence and following leads.
