RAISE YOUR VOICES – TOGETHER – And make them hear! Break the Silence

25 Years of Heartache: A Mother’s Relentless Pursuit
My name is Tillis, and for 25 agonizing years, my world has revolved around one relentless pursuit: finding my missing son, George James. Every day is like being stuck on a relentless repeat of the first day he was declared missing. Now, after enduring 17 different detectives and no action on his case, the ache of uncertainty remains as raw as ever.
It didn’t take 17 detectives for any progress on George’s case to stop, it took two. The moment built by our second detective, Keith Barnett, came to a crashing halt after he was transferred. That is, until Detective Edwards was assigned to us, and the action picked back up! With the constant changing of names and faces, some of whom I never even spoke with, I can’t remember what number Detective Edwards was, but he was following leads and actively looking for my son – picking up where Detective Barnett left off… and then he, too, was transferred.
I’ll never forget the frustration when one of the later 17 detectives said to me, “Tell me about the case.” Astounded and somewhat bewildered, I said, “Did no one before you take notes? Did they not do a case summary? Did they not jot down their impressions?” And he replied, “We’ll have to start over and see if there is anyone we can interview.” But in what had become a well-established pattern, he was also transferred. It seemed each newcomer was destined to echo the same refrain, “Tell me about the case.”

That’s enough to give you an idea, I’m sure, that you are not alone, but how many of you speak up? Who are you speaking up to? Is it just your voice? It doesn’t have to be. I refuse to be silenced. And neither should you. I repeat…you are NOT alone in your pain, in your grief, in your anger, or in your fight for justice.
Breaking the Silence: A Collective Quest for Justice and Hope
So here’s my proposition: Let’s break the silence together.
Let’s carefully review the cases here on ACCA and examine the details that may have been overlooked. If you were tasked with reviewing the case, what would you want to know? Let’s explore any details that may need further examination or clarification. It’s crucial to carefully scrutinize the actions that may require additional attention in numerous cases.
Let’s aim to improve our processes. When our minds and hearts unite in this endeavor, we become formidable force that cannot be ignored. With a collective effort focused on these cases, those involved will pay attention when a hundred voices raise questions about a single case. We will persist in our search for answers, and your question could be the key to unlocking new developments in the investigation!
Watch for our first case to review together. I’m so glad you’ll be helping us shine the light on the missing and murdered to ensure that the victims and their families remain unforgotten.
